What do you think about this post?

Comments

  1. Is this still available? I want to win it because I want to attend on that training and will meet them and can talk to them personally.

  2. I am writing a freelance writer guidebook due for publishing in late summer. I need to learn all I can about publishing options, how to find non-fiction blog hosts and promote via social media without saying \”buy my book!\”. What I learn in the process of publishing the non-fiction book will help immensely when I publish my historical fiction novel in 2014.

  3. I’m most looking forward to Daniel Hall’s email tips. I’m not very confident when I send them, so I think this will be valuable. I think I would benefit from this ticket giveaway, because I’ve attended “traditional” publishing conferences, and I basically spent all that money for them to tell me that self-publishing and ebooks is the way to go. (Go figure.) Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  4. Hi Denise

The #1 reason I would like to win a free ticket to this exceptional event, is to learn more about using video content to build and expand my business. Being in a position to tell people about who I am, where I come from, and to demonstrate how to do things, is a very powerful tool.

As I have listened to many of the contributors to this event, it would be a great privilege to be able to attend “The Digital Publishing Online Intensive”.

At this stage I am not in a position to purchase a ticket.

    Thank you! Aileen

  5. What a super idea! Thanks Denise & Ellen for doing this and creating TFOI. The reason I would love to be selected as one of the winners is that I think it would be great benefit to me as I continue to make the transition from Lotus Writing & Communications to Lotus Motivations, a personal development coaching firm and continue writing my memoir, “For This I Got Sober,” to be out later this year.

The information you are providing is the next step in filling-in-the-blanks in my complete make over and fulfilling my mission.

I have been working on this transformation most of my life but more specifically the last 2-3 years (taking better care of my health : non smoker 3+ years, clean & sober, 26+ years, working with a nutritionist for almost 2 years, losing 147.5 inches the last 7 months), a Nichiren Buddhist for 19+ years and working with a life coach (Dr. Walter Sims) for the last 7+ months.

Thanks again! And the very best in all that you do!

    • Congrats Michelle & Justine! Denise & Ellen thanks for the opportunity of entering the contest, it really was a lot of fun. Still may attend. Other opportunities ahead…am totally stoked. Best wishes to all for continued success.

  6. Ilene Stankiewicz says:

Thank you for the opportunity to score a ticket! That is a generous offer.

As a writer/editor, I’ve spent too many hours working on client book and marketing copy projects for too little reward. It’s time to shift some of that focus toward sharing my own message and creating my own products. Over the years, I’ve had to reinvent myself several times, as the companies I’ve worked for and the advertising/marketing industry shifted. So let’s just say I’ve hit more than one dead end.

Again I’m moving in a new direction, and I see your upcoming series as a great way to learn the latest and best strategies for creating and promoting valuable content, for both myself and my clients (at least until I can focus solely on my own writing). I see online digital publishing as a way to reach a much wider audience and do so profitably.

I’m especially interested in knowing more about virtual book tours and monetizing IP for long-term profits.

  7. Thank you for this great offer! Two things I am really interested to learn more about:
How to locate and connect with blog tour hosts.
How to make sure what I write will serve my audience.
I blog regularly -for myself when I started as a disciplinary exercise and want to move a step forward, now that I have lots of content.
Thank you again for the offer and your great job!

  8. Hello all,

Best of luck to everyone who enters the contest here. :-)

Thank you for the opportunity to win a free ticket.

Having been through some long-term personal challenges, I am now rebuilding my life. To that end, creating, and then sustaining, my online presence is key.

At the same time, I have to do this with almost no money. While there are many free resources out there, it would be a huge boon to learn from this group of experts, and to have access to the private Facebook group.

One of my goals, my main one, is to create a Website where I can share what I have learned from my personal experiences in order to help others.

It is also a way of paying forward how others have helped me.

Good and bad, I see all of life’s challenges as learning and growth experiences.

We are all connected, and put here to help each other.

If even one small thing I’ve learned helps one other person, then that can make a difference in not just that one person’s life, but in the world at large. It becomes a kind of domino, and ripple effect.

    Cheers,
    K.

    • Oops. My apologies. I forgot to say the one thing I want to know. (The why is about helping people.)

Picking only one is tough, so I’ll pick one from your list above. After I get my site up and running (which is a “one thing” in and of itself), this is what I want to know:

“The simplest way to ensure what you write will serve your audience and make them hungry for more. (Lynne Klippel)”

      Thanks,
      K.

  9. If I were to win one ticket I would give it to my daughter, I had her attend a webinar on digital publishing, since she loves to write. I though she may learn something that she could do at home when she feels good (she has fibromyalgia, came on after an injury at work 3 years ago). She really enjoyed the webinar and learned some from it but of course it was just the basics. So this would help her move forward with publishing her stories. If I were to win 2 tickets, then I also would utilize the 2nd ticket, I’ve been considering digital publishing and am always ready to learn and put into action that learning.

    Thank you for this opportunity.

  10. What a generous offer! I’ve already signed up, but if I win, I definitely have someone in mind who would love to attend but can’t afford it.

Besides wanting the latest info about digital publishing for my own books, I’ve got clients who want me to help them get a book out of their head and into publication. Digital publishing gives them so many more options than were available even five years ago.

  11. Denise, thanks for this opportunity. I’m interested in knowing how to think “beyond the individual format” in terms of my content. I know there isn’t a formula for this — but I would be interested in hearing case study type information about how individuals use a combination of tools to create a total content presence. For example, the blog posts become a book, and agents are targeted from the beginning. Snippets are posted on Linked-In to grow the list. A Facebook group is formed. And some information about the success of the strategy — audience built, books sold, and financial metrics too, e.g., was this a $10K project, a $100K project, did it set you up for further products, etc.

    Sounds like a wonderful conference!

  12. I have 2 books published in Dutch (with a well-known publisher). I am about to self publish my next book. I have content for several more books and working on a manifesto about Family & Business Balance.
I would love to get resources and maybe some help to start publishing my books internationally. Looking forward to join you in the event and share my knowledge on getting your story published.

  13. The main thing I want to know is how to grow my Amazon author page so it is strong and working for me. I am just getting this going. ( Hope I win:)

  14. I am totally enmeshed in the digital world: with several published Kindle books, a blog, scoop it curation platform, a twitter account, a facebook page, and a few more. I am working all of these channels, but I am really at the point where I feel I need to hone in on the one or two things that are going to be the most effective for monetization. I believe it is in utilizing Facebook and Twitter, but I’m still not up 100% on how to do this. I would love to win a ticket to help bring clarification to everything I am doing, and the most effective ways to move forward in my digital publishing business.

  15. I’ve been wanting to write a book for several years. I have the title, the content, but it just seems overwhelming to me. I then procrastinate because that’s easier than possibly doing it wrong, it not being perfect enough, etc.
I would love to know how to strategically dip the toe in the water of digital publishing and then to deliver the content in a way that leads to bigger projects (books). My goal is lead generation and increased income.

    Thanks!

  16. I hear so many coaches mention that you could piece together a digital book in a matter of days. If that is the case that would be something I would be very interested in doing. I am very excited about what we will be learning and can not wait to get started. Me winning this ticket will boost my efforts to create as much content as I can to help my readers grow. Thank you for the opportunity. :)

  17. Although I want to learn it all, I believe that learning the step-by-step process of how to put content together in less than 30 minutes will benefit me the most. Of course, it\’s all beneficial…I would love to win and keep expanding my learning.

  18. Wow! Wow! Wow! Winning a ticket would be a dream come true. Being able to learn from these top experts would be memorable and impactful for my business and the offerings I provide to clients. Knowing secrets and tips behind successfully repurposing digital content would be a game-changer.

  19. Attending the Digital Publishing Online Intensive will provide me with the opportunity to continue to learn about digital content production from your faculty of experts who are presenting, and it will provide me with the incentive to create time to develop an updated digital content publishing plan for my business.

One thing that I have noticed about many of the speakers having followed them online for some years is that they have the ability to create valuable digtial content consistently and in new formats. I would really welcome the opportunity to study with them.

If I were to win the two tickets I would like to gift a ticket (sharing my good fortune) – either to a start-up or non-profit to help them achieve greater success in 2013 througb digital publishing.

  20. Hi Denise and team, I would more than anything have digital marketing bring back the love of reading and learning which so many children and adults seem to have lost with the event of the internet. Kids are struggling at school and adults lose their jobs, their hopes and their inspiration.
Now if we could all learn how to make information, stories and learning fun again, easily accessible, easy to digest, somehow make it ‘cool’, just think how much we could change, being creative and innovative.
But I don’t even know what Visual Content or blog tour hosts are or how to repurpose content, scale it or how one in this day and age writes emails which will stand out in the maddening crowd. Which print publishing is better for which audience or subject matter?
As far as winning goes, I don’t deserve to win, only that I would dearly love to win in order to learn. Instead of having to attend many individual webinars, here one has so many experts delivering so much content all under one digital roof? Your line up is impressive.
I’ve got my nose and hands pressed up against the glass, looking in at all the yummy colored sweets up on the counter, my mouth watering, my stomach growling, my eyes hopefully and soulfully fixing on the owner, yearning that she will see me…

  21. Thanks for this opportunity. The main thing I’d like to learn about using digital content to build my business is how to use my limited energy and resources effectively, so that I can expand and grow and achieve the results I’m looking for. I want my efforts to be bang-on! I should win a free ticket because I will do great things with the information you teach me!

  22. Jaye Miller says:

If more people knew about this and how to implement it, there would definitely be fewer 9 to 5er’s…

  23. HELP ME HELP YOU :)

The #1 thing I want to know about using digital content to build my audience-based business as a writer/blogger/entreproducer is:

anything that will help me grow and inspire the community I serve: to develop a deep holistic understanding of my readers, to write and work in that sweetspot where their needs and my superpowers intersect, to consistently provide them with awesomeness, to empower a network.

I should win a free ticket because:

I believe content marketing is an art.

I believe digital publishing can change the world.

I believe you can combine creativity, content and commerce in a way that feeds the soul.

I have over 10,000 followers on Twitter, 3000 followers on Facebook, and a blog that receives over 40,000 views/month and is growing. I will tweet, post and blog about what I’ve learned, and where and from whom I have learned it.

I seek not only to soak up as much knowledge as I can, but to apply it. And also to teach, inspire and empower others — resulting in more potential guest bloggers for you. :)

    Peace and love.
    Justine

  24. Elizabeth Tessier says:

The #1 thing I want to know about using digital content to build my business is how do I overcome the annoying fact that many people will not pay for digital content?

The reason I should win a free ticket is that I would make it worth your while. Yes, times are hard for me, but I don’t expect something for nothing. That’s why, if I should be fortunate enough to win a free ticket, I would write a blog post about each session of the Future of Ink, to be republished by organizers as they saw fit.

    • Just to say, I pay for digital content all the time. I pay for *good* digital content from people I trust, who have usually impressed me and won me over with free content first. Paid-for content has to be higher quality, better packaged, well positioned, more comprehensive, more expert, etc. Create a sense of value in the reader’s mind, and they will pay (sometimes premium prices). There might be a ton of stuff on the Internet, but keep in mind that a lot of it sucks.

  25. I have a book that I wrote and am not thinking the traditional publishing is the way to go, especially for an unknown author! I would love to learn how to get my work out there so I can share my philosophy of cooking real foods, health, beauty and an abundant lifestlye. I am totally passionate about health and beaty especially for women (and men!) who are more mature and need inspiration to reach for their best at any age!

  26. I’m very excited about the possibility of winning this ticket. I’m an e-book editor and I coach people through the process of creating their e-books. My main question is about the best method for implementing an author website/blog. In regards to marketing, should it be an individual website for each book or would it be better to have an author website that includes all the books from the same author in addition to related affiliate products?

  27. I really want to attend this as I know I have so much to learn. Reading and learning on the internet is helpful, but attending would make it much easier to put the pieces together.

Plus, as the saying goes, “I don’t know what I don’t know” and the conference gives me the opportunity to learn some of those missing pieces.

  28. I launched BusinessBuzz to cater for the growing number of people who need to make a living when their salary stops – whether from redundancy, retirement, a career break, burnout or simply the desire to leave the 9-5 and go it alone. A digital magazine launch this Spring is part of my strategy to build a community and deliver advice, information, inspiration and ideas for creating income when you don’t have a job. The #1 thing I want to know is how to approach experts for interviews and how to include affiliate products and programmes in a digital magazine (sorry, two things). A free ticket would give me the opportunity to learn how to blend my previous print publishing experience with new methods and technology to harness the impact, interactivity, speed and cost benefits that digital publishing will bring.

  29. I want to learn the most dynamic applications relevant to my niche market of Accidental Leaders. I should win this ticket because although most people wouldn’t know it, I have a disability from a head on car accident from when I was 18, that prevents me from standing or sitting for long, or from traveling. I hide it considerably well, but those who know me closely can attest to how I constantly work to overcome these limits and make the very most of myself and my circumstances. As a result, I assist others in becoming over-comers and unstoppable. I am passionate about supporting other to become successful themselves through Executive/Business Coaching, training, and consulting.

  30. We are just about to launch 2 new websites – one of which is a portal for information about Panama – there are so many ways we could improve this site with the knowledge from this series of seminars – we have a wealth of information already about all aspects of tourism and living in Panama that if used correctly could increase our revenues dramatically and ensure that our new site is the top site for Panama. We are on a bootstrap budget as we near the launch date – all resources have been committed so winning a ticket to DPOI would allow us to maximize the potential of what we already have.

    Regards,
    Andrew

  31. Annemarie OBea says:

Oh I hope you\’ll pick me. I am working on a blog that I\’d like to develop into an ebook. My focus is on hidden disabilities — what its like to live with them, what its like to see people react to them, what its like to love someone with them.My message boils down to this. Humans are funny… they only give empathy on their terms, when and where they want it. Those with disabilities don\’t always have that luxury. Learning to walk, roll or crutch in someone elses shoes isn\’t nearly as glamorous as it sounds. Thanks for the chance to win…. crossing fingers!

  32. After 7 years as a nonprofit housing counselor who helps hundreds of first home buyers each year, I need to learn how to translate my knowledge and passion into commercial content.

The mortgage crisis of the past half decade shows that people need the information I can offer. But I have to figure out how to present and market it.And, as much as I know about real estate and mortgages, I struggle with technical questions. I’d love to get advice about technology to save me hours of research and learning.

Thanks for sharing the chance to win a free ticket.

  33. Recently losing employment, I am currently building a business to launch around my experience and PR training. I know digital publishing is growing in leaps and bounds, and I would love to bring that tool into the utilizable toolbox for myself and future clients. I appreciate you sharing the opportunity, and I hope to be chosen for the free ticket. I am grateful to you both for working hard to put this online event together.
